10 Amazing Places in the US to Visit This Spring

Spring is here! Well....somewhere. It is cold and rainy here in Kansas right now, but

hey what better time to get out of here and go on a vacation! In this article I am

sharing 10 places I think are perfect options for any spring trips you want to go on

so scroll on down to read more!

.

.

Death Valley National Park, California

I came into Death Valley last year not expecting much from this park.

However, I ended up being absolutely blown away by its otherworldly

beauty and now I cannot wait to go back and explore some more. Of course

one widely known thing about Death Valley is just how hot it can get in this park

which is why I have it in my list for best places to visit in the spring. I was in

Death Valley in April and while the high for the day was around 99 degrees F that

is nothing compared to what it can reach in the summer. You can read more

about my visit to Death Valley here!

.

Moab, Utah

I have been to many places in my 26 years, but my favorite still remains Moab.

It is my home away from home and I have yet to have a single negative experience

there. Now while I would visit Moab any time of year I personally think spring is the

best time. In the summer months it gets brutally hot and in winter you typically have

a TON of snow that comes in from the close La Sal mountains. However, in the spring

the weather is absolutely perfect for any outdoor adventures you want to do which

could range from white water rafting on the Colorado river, canyoneering, ziplining, 4x4

tours, or even a stop at the close by Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Moab is

an adventurer’s dream and a definite must visit.

.

Sedona, Arizona

There is soooo much hiking to do in and around Sedona that makes

spring with its mild weather the absolute perfect time to visit this magical place.

Read all about my visit to Sedona here.

.

Big Sur, California

A highlight of Big Sur in the spring is not only the weather, but also the beautiful

fields of wildflowers. Unfortunately, when I visited Big Sur it was in January so still

cold and flowerless, but I have seen so many pictures of the blooms and that is why

I added Big Sur to this list. You can read more about my visit to Big Sur here.

.

Joshua Tree National Park, California

I knew before I even made it out to this park I was going to love it and man

did it just exceed every already high expectation I had. This park is magnificent

and visiting in the spring before the sun’s rays try to cook you alive while

you are out hiking the shade less trails is a great plan. You can read more on

Joshua Tree and how I spent my time there using this link!

.

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

While I am sure this is a beautiful park to visit in the winter (it’s a beautiful park any

time of year) I am not a fan of the cold so I would much rather see this

place in the spring/summer months. Plus in the spring this is another amazing place

to see some beautiful wildflowers, hang out by and on the lake, see the

wildlife start to make their way out of hibernation, and avoid the crowds! I loved my short

time spent at Grand Teton and I wouldn’t mind making a trip back to explore

some more! You can read about my Grand Teton adventure here.

.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

If you are an art lover Santa Fe needs to be on your list no matter what

time of year, but especially in the spring when they have one of the largest

and liveliest art scenes in the whole country. I personally am not a huge art person, however

walking down Canyon Road in Santa Fe was an experience I won't forget. It was

absolutely incredible seeing the pieces local artists had created with things ranging

from paintings to sculptures. In addition to the art scene you can also visit the New

Mexico state capital building and see some really beautiful churches, missions, and

chapels including the Loretta Chapel with its infamous miracle staircase.

.

Savannah, Georgia

I think my favorite place I visited in the south would be Savannah, Georgia. I

loved the atmosphere, the trees (Y'all know I am a sucker for trees!), the food, and

of course the spooky stuff. I cannot wait to go back!

.

San Francisco, California

I have to say…San Francisco surprised me. I never really thought I would find

a city as big as it to be as much fun as I did (I’m a wide open spaces country girl), but

looking back on my time now I know I would return in a heartbeat. (Probably helped

that I visited with 3 of my besties! Ladies we NEED another girls trip ASAP!) Not only

is there a ton of stuff to do, but there is a ton of outdoor stuff too which really was

the big shocker. Walk around the hilly streets, burning that booty, like Anne

Hathaway in The PrincessDiaries this spring. (You can read more about our California girls trip here.)

.

New Orleans, Louisiana

Ah Nawlins. There is certainly not another place like you. I have never actually

been to New Orleans in the spring (it was Christmastime when I went), but I knew it

had to be on this list of top spring destinations for two reasons: Mardi Gras and low

humidity. Lol I think it would be so much fun to experience New Orleans during Mardi Gras

and I can tell you right now that walking up and down Bourbon street would be a lot more

enjoyable in the spring when the muggy summer sun isn’t around yet. You can read about

my visit to New Orleans here.

.

BONUS!

.

Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

Most people (including myself) think mainly of the gorgeous fall foliage

you can see at Shenandoah. However, I am here to tell you that this national

park is also one of the best places to visit in the spring with over 850 different

species of wildflowers. They even have a wildflower weekend in May where

you can go on guided hikes to the best wildflower spots in the park. Plus Shenandoah

is quite close to the town of Charlottesville where they have an insanely good food and drink scene.

.

Saguaro National Park, Arizona

If you are a cactus lover like me visiting Saguaro in the spring (especially

towards the end of April and into May) is the perfect idea. It is during this time of

year where you can catch the peak blossoming period for the cacti in

this gorgeous park (while also avoiding the overwhelmingly hot desert sun). You

can read about my visit to this amazing national park here.
