365 Outfit Challenge Week 12
Week 12
This week’s outfits are a telling sign of just how much the weather
in good ole Kansas loves to fluctuate with some featuring shorts
and sandals and others featuring jeans and long sleeves. After living
here for almost 24 years, I know that I must always remain prepared
for these fluctuations and not be afraid to wear some transitional pieces
and outfits before the “official” time begins like I had to this week!
Day 78:
Today was a true summer day temperature wise and thankfully I
had the day off of work which meant that I wasn’t going to be in
extreme danger of overheating because I could wear shorts
and sandals. The outfit I chose for this hot summer day features
my black scoop neck BCBG Maxazria tee, my distressed
American Eagle shorts, and my black
Universal Thread rope sandals.
Day 79:
In all honesty I think this outfit may have been worn a little
premature as far as seasons go, but as I mentioned above
Kansas weather doesn’t always heed the rules of the seasons.
So since it was a little cooler on this day I decided to also be a
rule breaker and wear a more seasonally transitional outfit featuring
my black waffle knit tank from Amazon, my high waisted
American Eagle skinny jeans, my taupe Carlos booties, and
my cream a.n.a. sweater cardigan. The only accessories
I wore was my gold cross necklace.
Day 80:
I was going to be meeting my family on this evening
for an outdoor birthday barbeque so I wanted an outfit that
was a little more on the cute side. Heck, I even attempted a cute
hairstyle...attempted being the key word here. Thankfully,
my outfit turned out much cuter than my hair
(and honestly was a lot less work) and featured my olive
green Forever 21 v-neck, my American Eagle skinny jeans,
my tan boots, and for accessories went with my layered
gold necklace and my tan and gold watch.
Day 81:
Bright white Universal Thread skinny jeans and a
picnic blanket for a shirt (aka my navy gingham plaid
Old Navy button down)....looks like pure summer to me!
To complete this summer look I paired these two items
with my cognac Old Navy booties and a cognac belt.
Day 82:
Again, we have another outfit that just screams
summer to me. It honestly makes me think of something
that you would see someone wearing at a baseball game
and that is a big part of the reason why I love it. It features
my white Old Navy v-neck shirt, my high waisted American
Eagle skinny jeans, and my white converse. To add a little
extra color to the outfit I tied my navy gingham plaid Old Navy
button down around my waist and threw on my
navy blue Yankees baseball hat.
Day 83:
I absolutely love wearing long sleeves with shorts. The long
sleeves just make me feel so cozy, almost like I am wrapped
in a blanket (because my arms are wussies and cannot
handle the slightest bit of chill in the air) while the shorts
keep me from overheating. Any chance I get to wear an
outfit like this is a chance I am for sure going to take just
like in this day’s outfit. It features my white American
Eagle tomgirl shorts, my black Old Navy long sleeve
thermal, and my black Old Navy flip flops.
Day 84:
My final outfit for this week was definitely a low effort outfit
and features my No Boundaries striped shirt from Walmart, my
black American Eagle skinny jeans, and my tan boots.
Favorite outfit: Day 82
Nothing makes me think of summer more than baseball so the
fact that this outfit made me feel like I was dressed to go to a
game was a big part of the reason why I liked it so much. Add
on the fact that the outfit was also comfy, cute, and featured
my Yankees baseball hat and there is no doubt as to why I
chose this as my favorite outfit for the week.
I always love hearing from you guys so be sure to leave any
thoughts you have on the outfits, or the challenge in general,
in the comments below! Also, prepare yourselves for a busy
outfit challenge week as I plan on posting an article almost
everyday to finally get us all caught up! (As I am writing this
I am currently wearing outfit #116 so we are quite a ways
behind in posting. Hopefully we can get back on track soon!)
