Foodie Friday: Made From Scratch - Wilson, Kansas

The easiest way to get me to visit a restaurant is if you tell me they have homemade pies, which is exactly what led me to pick the restaurant Made From Scratch in Wilson, Kansas as Justin and I's lunch stop on one of our Kansas road trips. Scroll on down to read more about our experience!

THE MENU

.

Along with pie they are also known for their Rueben!

.

.

Made From Scratch offers a lunch buffet every day and on the

day we visited it happened to be a German buffet

(not sure if this is the buffet they have every day or if they switch it up).

However, with neither one of us being huge German food lovers, we both decided

to order off their menu instead. Justin went with their famous fully homemade Rueben

.

.

and I went with their loaded baked potato topped with brisket.

.

Brisket, cheese, potato, AND bacon. No better choice!

And of course for dessert we HAD to get pie so I ordered the

apple and forced Justin to order the peach. lol

Walking in to Made From Scratch felt a little like walking into

the house of your resident crazy chicken lady, but it fit the theme

perfectly and I loved seeing all of the ways they incorporated chickens

into their décor. I did think our service was a little slow, however I am

contributing that mainly to the fact that the place was pretty full and there

was only one waitress covering all of the tables. Once we got our

food it proved, in my opinion to be worth the wait,

especially the pie which was so clucking good.
