Gift Guide for the Travel Lover (2021)
Travel is one of my passions so this was probably one
of the easiest gift guides I have made this year!
It features a ton of products that I personally
recommend and use on every single vacation
as well as a few things I have my eye on. Hope you
find this helpful and happy travels to your adventurer!

Hydroflask
Image from Hydroflask.com
I personally don’t have a hydroflask (yet), but everyone I know
that does have one cannot stop raving about how much they
love it. I even know some people who have 3 or 4 in different
colors! These bottles hold a lot of liquid and do a great job of
keeping your drink cold. Also I like how they have a built-in straw
because I know I tend to drink more water when I have
a straw to drink through.
.
.
GoPro Camera
Image from Amazon
This is one thing that has always been on my travel wish list
especially now with the blog! It would be a great thing
to have to capture all the adventures.
.
.
Satellite Phone
Image from Amazon
If someone on your list is a solo traveller a satellite phone
would be a great gift, both for you and them! It gives you both
peace of mind by ensuring that they have a way to contact
someone if something were to go wrong.
.
.
Journal
Every trip I go on I write about my days in a journal. It’s
really cool to be able to look back on and see everything
that I did and experienced. Plus it makes it much easier to
write about my trips on the blog. I tried video
journals, but nothing beats pen and paper.
.
National Parks Field Notes Notebooks
.
Another great place to find cute journals is your local
bookstore! There is a second hand book store in my town
called Twice Told Tales (their Bookshop site can be found here)
and they sell some absolutely darling notebooks! The blue
Christmas-y one in the photo above is from there!
.
America the Beautiful Pass
This is the only season pass I own and renew every single
year no matter what. I love visiting national parks and one
day I hope to visit them all! This would be a great gift for the
travel lover on your list who has this same goal!
.
.
Travel Jewelry Case
My multiple outfits almost always require accessories and
for years I have just been throwing my jewelry into a little
pouch and praying for the best. If your travel lover is like
me and likes to bring multiple accessories with them then
a travel jewelry case is exactly what they need. I guarantee
they will love it and be so thankful when they can spend more
time exploring and less time detangling necklaces. Lol
.
Mini Travel Jewelry Case Amazon
.
Weekender Bag
I received this as a Christmas present last year and I love it.
I use it for every single short trip I have! It has a lot of room
to store everything you need, including interior pockets, and
I like how it has a separate bottom compartment for your shoes.
.
.
Tripod and Bluetooth Remote
If you know someone who travels alone this gift would be
perfect for them! I cannot tell you how many times I have
used my tripod while on my trips to get some good
outfit pics and travel shots with me in them! Sometimes you
just aren’t around people (or are too scared to ask someone
to take your photo for you...@me...lol) so this is really convenient
to have! I also really like my mini tripod with the bendable
legs because it is easier to carry in my backpack AND you can
place it almost anywhere. (I have even wrapped it around a
tree before to get a good shot! lol)
.
Here are some photos I took using my tripod on vacation:
Image from Amazon
In the same vein as the tripod is a gimbal stabilizer for a
smartphone. Odds are on vacation your travel lover is
going to be taking videos of themselves doing cool things
and having a gimbal will really help them create
videos that aren’t shaky.
.
.
Portable Battery Pack
Image from Amazon
This is a MUST if you know someone who likes to go hiking.
On my last trip I went hiking through Great Smoky Mountain
National Park and not even a half mile int
o my 3 mile hike, my phone died. (The cold just drained the battery!)
Having a portable battery pack with me would have allowed
me to charge my phone so I could take pictures of my hike
and would have also ensured I had a potential way of
communicating if something would have gone wrong. You can
also get power banks that are solar powered so you don’t
have to spend time charging them with an outlet which would
be great for someone who likes to camp on their trips!
.
.
Another great idea in the same vein if your traveller is
planning on going on an international trip is a universal charger.
.
If your travel lover leans toward more extreme adventures
a dry bag might be a great gift for them! A dry bag will keep
their belongings dry if they were to ever get near water
like during river rafting or canyoneering!
.
.
Bluetooth Headphones
Whether on the plane or on a hike bluetooth headphones
are a must. I would say some of the best bluetooth headphones
(based on other people’s reviews) are the AirPods Pro, but
there are a ton of great (perhaps less expensive) options
out there. I personally have the JLAB Bluetooth
Headphones and really like them!
.
.
Tablet Holder
Image from Amazon
Not all airlines have screens on their planes so this would be
a perfect gift for someone who flies a lot and likes
to watch videos during the flight.
.
.
Scratch Map/Photo Map
Image from Etsy
Image from Etsy
I am all about documenting the places I have been as are
many travel lovers so getting them a scratch map or even
a photo map would be a great gift idea! You could do one
of the 50 states, the national parks, or even
one with all the countries on it!
.
.
Chacos
I used the crap out of my Chacos on my southwest vacation
(can you tell by how dirty they are? Lol) and I think these would
make a great gift for a travel lover! They are great for all kinds
of activities/adventures and I love mine.
.
.
Hiking Socks
Image from REI
Image from Bombas
Having high quality hiking socks is a must for your travel
lover. Plus I feel like a lot of people do actually
enjoy getting socks for Christmas. Lol
.
.
Drone
Image from Best Buy
I love seeing and watching aerial shots people have taken
using their drones. I think this would be a sweet thing to
bring on a vacation! I actually saw someone using one of these
at Devil’s Bridge in Sedona when I was there. I can’t even imagine
how awesome that footage had to be! If you are looking
for a big ticket item this is it.
.
.
Chatbooks
Image from Chatbooks
Travellers tend to take a LOT of photos and when you are
taking thousands each vacation it is hard to pick a few favorites
to display. I want to be able to show off as much as I can! That
is what makes Chatbooks such a great gift. Your traveller can
send in their photos straight from their phone to Chatbooks
and they will create a hardcover photo album for them! They
take up less space than framed pictures and waaay less time
than a scrapbook and are a great way to share
their adventures with everyone.
.
.
The Bucket List Book and My Bucket List Journal
Image from Amazon
Image from Amazon
As an adventure lover I am constantly looking for new
experiences to have. The bucket list book would be a
great gift if you have an adventurer in your life who is
the same way. Inside the book are tons of different experiences
that could be put on a bucket list. I think it would be so much
fun to just flip to a random page and find your next adventure
that way! Also a great thing to pair with this would be the bucket
list journal. Of course your travel lover needs to have
somewhere to write down all they plan to accomplish and
this journal is a great place for that.
.
.
Gift Cards
I have found two of the most expensive things when it
comes to travel is getting where you are going and then
finding a bed to sleep in. Gift cards for your travel lover
will definitely be much appreciated.
.
Adventure Themed Clothing
Image from Parks Project
You can never go wrong with new clothes they
can wear on their adventures! Perfect idea for guys and girls!
.
.
Blanket
Image from Wondery
This is kind of a random one, but I have been wanting a big
travel blanket like this for a long time. This would be a
perfect gift for a traveller who likes to camp.
.
.
The Wander Club
Image from Wander Club
This site is so stinking cool. What they do is they create
little tokens your travel lover can put on a keychain that says
all the different places they have been to! They have a variety
of different token options from national parks, states,
countries, and even custom ones!
.
.
Clothing Steamer
Image from Amazon
If your travel lover is like me then they are stuffing their suitcases
to the point where they have to sit on them to get them to close
which means the likelihood of clothing pieces getting wrinkled
(especially the beloved flannels!) is very high. A mini clothing
steamer would be a great thing to have just in case!
.
.
Spotify Premium Subscription
I use spotify ALL THE TIME and ever since I broke down and
purchased the premium membership I haven’t looked back.
Not having to deal with any ads is heaven and means I get to listen
to all of my favorite songs of the moment without interrupting
any of the feels. I don’t know if I could vacation without it. Lol
(If you want you can follow me on Spotify! My profile name is Lil Mak!)
