DIY Gift Ideas
DIY gifts are a great personal, one of a kind option
for anyone you are shopping for this year.

Signs
.
Wood Sign with Quote
I saw a sign with this quote on it hanging up in someone’s
garage and when I saw it I knew it was something my brother
would like. However, I decided instead of buying one I was
going to make it myself. In the end it isn’t perfect, but he really
liked it and it is hanging up in his house now. :)
.
Holiday Decor
I received these as a Christmas present a couple of years
ago and I absolutely love them. I use them for decorating every year.
.
Canvas Sign
If you don’t want to mess around with wood you could
always opt for canvas. I made this one a few years ago, but
you can put any quote on it you want or even paint a picture!
You can also take your gift up a notch by adding on a nice little frame.
.
Photo Album/Scrapbook
Photos are special and hold so many memories (they
aren’t kidding when they say a picture paints a thousand words) so
put together a scrapbook or photo album of some of your favorite
memories with your giftee. I have both given and received these as
gifts in the past and they were loved on both ends.
.
*To make the photo album more personal you could add in writing
where you talk about the things you remember from that picture
or why you chose to put it into the album.
.
Picture Frames

I have also seen a lot of people do this! Great if your someone has
a more rustic theme in their home.

Charm Bracelet
For my friend Makenzie’s 25th birthday I wanted to get her
something special and I knew a homemade gift would be
something she would really appreciate. She also currently
lives thousands of miles from home in India so I thought a charm
bracelet would be a great way to keep Kansas close to her. She loved
it and I am sure your special someone will too!
.
Beaded Letter Bracelet/Necklace
These 90s jewelry pieces are back in style now!
You can craft ones with special words or initials like the ones
in the picture. Just little reminders they could use on the daily.
.
Ornaments

I have made both of these for people in the past. I think the
photo ornaments are super special and especially
great for grandparents!
.
Macrame Decoration
My friend Abigail and I tried our hand at making macrame
decorations a couple years ago and I learned from that
experience that I will not be gifting anyone any macrame thing
I try to make…it wasn’t pretty y’all. (see photo above lol) However, Abigail’s
turned out amazing so if you are someone who has a knack for
macrame think about making your person some hanging plant
holders or a wall hanging or something like that.

Chunky Knit Blanket

These blankets are everywhere and not only look cute, but
also extremely soft and cozy.
.
Bowl Holder
I actually received this as a Christmas present a couple of
years ago from a coworker and I honestly think it is super
genius. I use it all the time, especially in the winter, when I
heat up soups or anything in a bowl!
.
*In addition to this you could throw in a cute soup
bowl and some homemade soup!
.
Amish Friendship Bread Starter/Baked Goods
I gift baked goods ALL THE TIME and I have never once had
a complaint about it. Lol Find out what their favorite dessert
or snack is and make it for them this holiday season.
.
Recipe Book
Fill a cookbook with some of their favorite recipes, some of
their family recipes, or recipes you want them to make for you. lol
.
Alcohol Flower Bouquet (LaurDIY Inspired)
Think this, but with Christmas flowers…and better alcohol. Lol Image from:
You can win really big gifting this to someone. Just hot
glue some wood skewers to some mini alcohol bottles
and place them in a vase with some pretty Christmas flowers
and you have a gift people will fight over.
.
You can find Lauren’s video where she makes this DIY and more here.
.
Flower Pot
Photo Cred:
Do you know someone who loves plants? Gift them a
flower pot with a new little plant baby inside! You could
buy a terracotta pot and decorate it how you like or go
so far as to build your own out of clay!
.
T-Shirt Blanket
This one might require some extra help from other family or
friends, but it is soo worth it! Gather up those t-shirts they are
only keeping for sentimental reasons and turn them into a blanket!
My friend Sam made one for both me and my brother out of some of
my mom's most worn t-shirts and it is by far my favorite blanket. Like if
there is a fire I am grabbing that and the cats. lol
