How I Spent My Valentine’s Day Single

This year I decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day for the first time, even though

I am single, by being my own Valentine. Truth be told it still kind of felt

like any other day and I stand by my thinking that whether you are your

own valentine or someone else's, this one day shouldn't be the only time you

show them or yourself some love. However, it was still kind of fun to try and make

it a special day. Scroll down to read more!

.

Unfortunately I had to work this Valentine’s Day so I wasn't able to spend the entire

day doing the things I wanted to, but I still tried my best to make this a special day.

.

First, I got dressed up! I wanted to look extra cute on this day for my date

with myself so I decided to do a full face of makeup (I chose my go-to valentine's

day makeup look of course), curled my hair, and wore a cute Valentine’s Day themed

outfit. Choosing an outfit was honestly the hardest part! As you can see in

my Valentine's Day Outfit inspo article I had a lot of choices, but ultimately ended

up going with this mesh heart print top with my high waisted skinny jeans, some

gold jewelry, my lip shaped sequin earrings, and my red boots. I also threw on

a black moto jacket and wore that for most of the day as it was a little on the

chilly side. Definitely was feeling cute!

.

.

I spent the morning doing nerdy microbiologist things until lunchtime when

I had one of my favorite meals, chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes. 🤤

It was delicious.

.

I finished out my work day, which thankfully proved to be pretty uneventful,

and then drove 25 minutes to the next town to get food from one of my favorite fast

food places, Jimmy Johns. (I don't want to hear a single one of you say Subway is

better because you would in fact be wrong. Lol) I always get the #11 Hunter's Club

which has turkey, ham, cheese, lettuce, and of course, extra mayo. So worth the drive.

.

Once I made it back home with my sammy I took care of the babies giving them

some wet food as a Valentine's Day treat and then opened my Valentine's gift

to myself which including 2 packages of Reese's peanut butter cups, some new

books (all of which are book club books so you can go here to read more about

them and the book club which starts in March), and a weighted and heated blanket.

.

I ate my sandwich and then got all snuggled up on the couch under my new blanket,

which I have officially deemed as one of the absolute best purchases I have ever made

(So mad I didn't buy one of these sooner!), and then watched "Community" with my

friend Justin via Netflix Teleparty. I didn't work on the blog, I didn't work out, I didn't

clean the house. I just chilled and it was magnificent. The only thing that would have

made it better would have been if the kittens would have cuddled up on the couch

with me instead of having the destructive zoomies, but they had a new box to play

with (what the heated blanket came in) so I guess I should have seen that one coming. Lol

.

So all in all it was a pretty decent Valentine's Day as a single pringle. Hard to say

how things will pan out next Valentine's Day, but if I find myself single once again

I definitely won't be disheartened about it. How did you spend your Valentine's Day?
