Movie-Fi-Cation Part 6
This part of my movie-fi-cation featured a lot of
re-watches. Some that remained toward the top of my movie
rankings, others that moved up from the bottom, and one that
I really would be okay with never watching again. Hope you
enjoy reading all about my thoughts!
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
As with most of the older Star Wars movies the graphics are
certainly not the best compared to today’s standards, but I
still found this movie to be so enjoyable. Han Solo is hands
down my favorite Star Wars character and so the introduction
of him in this movie makes this movie part one
of my favorites in the franchise.
The Wizard of Oz (1939)
I watched this movie when I "wasn't in Kansas anymore" but
instead on vacation in Colorado. In fact, this may have been
the first time that I have actually sat and watched this movie
the whole way through and boy...do I have some thoughts.
The songs, while in some parts catchy, were simply not my
cup of tea. Most likely a generational thing, but still, not a
fan. Also, the munchkins. Just thinking about them now
gives me the shivers. I totally understand why this movie gave
people nightmares when they were kids. So. Stinking. Creepy.
Overall, even though I am from Kansas, this is definitely a
movie I would be okay with never watching again.
.
Neighbors (2014)
Multiple scenes with a shirtless Zac Efron. Um yeah. I am
in 1000%. There are so many hilariously outrageous scenes
(the stupid funny that Seth Rogen is known for in his films so
if that is not your cup of tea perhaps skip this one) in this
movie and even after watching it again for the umpteenth time
I still found myself laughing outloud. Definitely not a movie
I think everyone needs to see before they
die, but certainly a great comedy.
.
The Notebook (2004)
I watched this movie years ago, but after Rachel
McAdams' character annoyed me to the point of no return I
refused to watch it again. However, this watch through, I not
only found myself enjoying the movie (even smiling and crying
along with the characters), but also taking back all the bad
things I ever said about Allie. I must have finally reached a
point in my life where I am able to understand and relate to
everything she did that had annoyed me in the past and I
cannot deny it any longer….The Notebook is a good movie.
.
Airplane! (1980)
The spoof movie of all spoof movies. My coworker has been
quoting this movie and recommending it to everyone he meets
for weeks now and he inspired me to watch it again! This
movie legit had me laughing out loud from
the opening scene. I absolutely loved it.

Have you seen any of these movies? What are your thoughts
on them?
