Watch It Wednesday

Almost every show/movie in this Watch It Wednesday article was one recommended to me by friends so hope you enjoy seeing whether or not I think they have good taste. lol

Oddity - WATCH

Synopsis: A psychic attempts to solve her sister’s murder by returning to the scene of the crime.

This movie was one I had never heard of that was recommended to me by the Cali besties Abigail and Jeremy. This movie definitely made me jump a few times with some very well placed scares and I liked the more psychological nature of it. The creepy vibes were definitely there and I was left shocked at many points. Definitely one to watch.

Significant Other - WATCH

Synopsis: A couple goes on a remote backpacking trip where they find out there is something sinister lurking in the woods with them.

This movie was recommended to me by my friend Kevin! The twist in this movie got me GOOD and even though it got a little ridiculous towards the end I still really really enjoyed this one. I had no idea what to expect half the time and was surprised again and again. It oddly even made me laugh at one point.

Kinda Pregnant - SKIP

Synopsis: When a girl’s plans to settle down and start a family fall apart, she puts on a fake baby bump, tells a lie, and ends up finding her dream guy.

This movie was recommend to myself and the Cali crew by Jeremy’s parents annnnnd unfortunately it just wasn’t for me. It was a little too much on the ridiculous stupid side of comedy for me (like most Amy Schumer movies) so I would skip this one.

1883 - WATCH

Synopsis: Prequel to the Yellowstone series, this show follows the post-civil war Dutton family as they make their way across the country from Texas to Oregon and then eventually Montana where they would lay claim to what will become the Dutton Ranch.

This show was initially recommended to me by my dad, but I kind of kept putting it off until my friend Mo suggested we buddy watch it. From that first episode I was hooked man! Although I have to say that I am soooo pissed about one of the characters they killed off and the ending of the show. Like still pissed and will forever be pissed. But everything else about it was pretty good.

1923 - Watch

Synopsis: Another prequel to the Yellowstone series, this follows the Dutton family through the time of the Great Depression, Western Expansion, and Prohibition.

After finishing 1883 Mo and I decided to move on to this show and at first I will admit I wasn’t enjoying it quite as much as 1883. However, now we are fully caught up and it is hard to wait for a new episode to come out each week! I do think this series takes things just a little too far drama wise to try and get that shock value, but otherwise yeah I’m all in. Especially with Brandon Sklenar in it. <3

Watcher - ?

Synopsis: An American girl moves to Bucharest with her husband and begins to believe she is being stalked by a potential serial killer who lives across the street.

Truthfully I am not sure how I feel about this one. It was a very slow burn of a movie, had a predictable ending, and made me so damn mad at the male main character. Oh how I wished the Spider would have taken him out! However, in the end I think this was just a little too realistic for me. Like this movie was something that could and does 100% happen and for me that definitely makes a movie scarier, but also not something I want to see.

Diners, Drive-In, and Dives - WATCH

Synopsis: Guy Fieri travels across the country looking for America’s greatest diners, drive-ins, and dives.

This was the only one on the list that was not a recommendation, but a show I have loved for YEARS. In fact I love this show so much that last year I decided I wanted to make it my mission in life to visit every restaurant seen on the show. Y’all I have a spreadsheet and everything. However, I just recently learned that not only is the show in its 51st season (yes 51), but they are also STILL making new episodes. Sooooo my goal of visiting every restaurant might be unrealistic, but I am ~1400 restaurants and 19 seasons deep in this spreadsheet so I am not going to stop now. lol Choosing to dream big here so wish me luck! Definitely a must watch show though if you want to take a journey through flavortown with the best!
