Drone Light Festival at Exploration Place - Wichita, Kansas
Scrolling through Facebook events last month I came across one advertising
a drone light show in Wichita, Kansas and, being the big nerd I am, thought
this sounded like fun! So I shared it with bestie Cassidy and told the boyfriend
we were going and off the 4 of us went to Wichita.
.
.
.
Cass ended up buying a carload pass so anyone riding in her car got in AND
we got to park in The Exploration Place parking lot. Which, after seeing all
the people walking on the sidewalk to the museum, was really so worth it.
.
We got to the festival a little around 6:30pm and joined the great throngs of
people milling about around the museum. They had a TON of food
trucks (one of which we stopped at later to get popcorn for the drone show)
and our pass also gave us access to the entire museum.
.
I wanted to try this soooo bad! lol
.
I had never been inside The Exploration Place before, but my little nerd self was
loving it just as much as Cassidy's 3-year-old son Beau. There was just SO MUCH
to do and see and I really want to go back when it isn't so crowded.
.
After spending some time exploring Exploration Place we headed outside
and picked out our spot for the show which took place just to the
side of the Keeper of the Plains statue.
.
.
They had some amazing designs and I can't believe it was all done with drones!
Definitely wouldn't mind going back again next year and maybe getting a closer spot.
.
Things to Know:
.
Ticket Prices:
-$15/person
-$60 for carload pass (Up to 9 people)
.
A car load pass is soooo worth it IF:
-You have more than 4 people going.
-You or someone you are with can't walk long distances.
-You don't want to try to find/pay for parking.
.
Bring lawn chairs!
.
You can come hungry, but expect LONG lines at food trucks.
.
The museum will be PACKED. Just expect chaos. Lol
.
Best place to view show is on the grassy slope by Keeper of the Plains statue.
Just be aware that it is very slanted. You can see the drones
from the parking lot though too if you don't want to deal with the slope.
