The Best Drugstore Red Lipstick
....
There are a lot of things that I associate with winter and the holidays;
snow, family, fireplaces, and of course a bold red lip.
However, with so many options out there finding the
perfect red lipstick can be very overwhelming. So I
decided to test them out for you! I picked up 18 different
drugstore red lipsticks (both liquid and cream) and wore each
for at least 3 hours with my criteria for picking
the best of the best focusing on the color, feel, and transfer
proof ability of each! Keep reading to see what
lipstick you should be buying for your holiday lip!

Top 5 I think are definitely worth the money:
.....
5) Nyx Suede Lipstick (Shade: Spicy) - a true red
........
Nyx lipsticks were the first lipsticks that I ever tried and
now five years later I still find myself returning to them!
However, with that being said this was the first time that I
have tried their suede lipstick line
(or any of their cream lipsticks to be honest)
and I thought it was great. The formula of this
lipstick is very easy to apply, pigmented, and feels
very soft on the lips. It does dry down to a matte finish,
but it doesn’t dry out your lips. I even forgot that I
was wearing it while doing my wear test!

4) e.l.f. matte liquid lipstick
(Shade: Red Vixen) - a dark berry red
.....
e.l.f. Cosmetics has really been stepping up their game
within the last couple of years coming out with products
that could easily rival some high end products and their
matte liquid lipstick is a great example! The applicator
for this lipstick is great making application
a breeze. This lipstick is not sticky AT ALL, dries down
almost immediately, and has little to no transfer.

3) Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid
Lipstick (Shade: Ground Breaker) - a brown red
Maybelline liquid lipsticks are a new favorite of mine for
many reasons. Firstly, they are easy to apply although I will say
that it is best to apply a thin layer because this lipstick doesn’t dry
down fully (to avoid drying out your lips) so applying
a lot on your lips will make them feel sticky. However, even though they
don’t dry down fully they do still have a nice matte
appearance and, the most shocking revelation, is that they
are transfer proof! This lipstick will easily last all day and
when it comes time to remove it you will definitely need to
use some type of STRONG makeup remover because
these lipsticks are there to stay honey.

2) Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon
(Shade: Own Your Empire) - a deep true red
.....
Another Maybelline product that I fell in love with
during this experiment was the Maybelline Ink Crayon.
I had never used an ink crayon before, but after
trying this one from Maybelline I had a hard time trying
to figure out what took me so long! Application was
an absolute breeze and, honestly, quite fun because
it kind of felt like I was coloring my lips like a coloring
book. It was much easier to stay inside the lines with
the precise tip (which can be sharpened with the built in sharpener)
and the formula is very creamy and does not
dry out your lips. It also is transfer proof.

1) L'OREAL Infallible Pro Matte Liquid
Lipstick (Shade: Matador) - a maroon red
.........
My number one pick from this test is the L’OREAL
Infallible Pro Matte Liquid Lipstick. The applicator on
this one is hands down the best applicator for a liquid
lipstick and could easily be mistaken for a high end
lipstick. This lipstick formula is creamy, but dries fully
matte (without drying out your lips), feels insanely
soft, is definitely transfer proof, and is quite
pigmented with a beautiful deep red color
that I think would suit anyone.

What do you think of my top 5 choices? Do you use any
of the lipsticks that I mentioned? Were there some
that you think should have made the top 5 that
didn’t? Let me know in the comments!
