My Southwest US Vacation Lookbook Part 1
.
.
It took me forever to try and plan what I was going to wear
on this vacation. Leaving for as long as I was (18 days), I wasn’t
able to get an accurate read on the weather so I had to plan for
everything, create functional hiking outfits that didn't show me
sweating my booty off, and still try to look cute. It was honestly
so difficult, but I like to think I succeeded. Lol Take a look at my
outfits below and let me know what you think!

Day 1: McPherson, KS - Amarillo, TX
Day 1 of the trip the final destination was The Big Texan
restaurant in Amarillo, TX so I knew I wanted a sort of dressy
western inspired look. I mean...it had been awhile since I was
given the opportunity to dress up and, being in Texas, it would
have been a sin to not wear at least some turquoise jewelry and boots! Lol

"Dress" (This is actually a tunic I got second hand! I just
safety pinned the sides to close up the slits a little and added
the belt to give it more of a dress look! Worked pretty
well…..as long as I stayed out of the wind. hahahaha)
.
White Belt (I think this came in a 3 pack of belts from
Walmart. I unfortunately can’t find the link for it.)
.
Faux Snakeskin Booties (Absolutely LOVE these boots. If you
wear a half size like me I suggest sizing up rather than down. I
initially ordered them in a 7 and had to exchange
them for an 8. Fit so much better now!)
.
Aviators - Thrifted
Necklace - Thrifted
Bracelets - Thrifted
.
Day 2: Cadillac Ranch - Carlsbad Caverns National
Park - White Sands National Park
Starting the morning out in Texas at Cadillac Ranch I decided to
again fully embrace my southern side and brought out the
denim and my good ole Justin boots (I have had these boots since
high school and they have seen some sh*t..literally. lol The fact
that they are still holding together so well kind of blows my mind
especially after seeing how fast my brother goes through his Ariats.)

White Tank (size xs)

Justin Cowboy Boots - Called the Inji Brown
Justin Gypsy Women’s Cowboy Boot
Bracelets - Thrifted

Before turning in for the night I wanted to do a quick sunset
photoshoot at White Sands National park and I bought this
Amazon dress specifically for this moment. I really like the
colors of it (definitely provided a nice contrast to the white sand) and
the fit of it is also really nice and comfortable. (I would absolutely
LOVE to go back to White Sands and do another photoshoot like
this one. It was sooo beautiful there….even with the wind! lol)

Amazon Wrap Dress (ordered in a size small)
Necklace - Thrifted

Day 3: White Sands National Park - Saguaro National Park (East)
This day’s look was all about finding those desert vibes baby! I
finally got the chance to wear this fringe tank that has been
sitting in my closet forever, pairing it with a pair of distressed
black shorts from Amazon (That ride up like crazy! I cannot tell
you how many times I had to pull those puppies down so my whole
booty wasn’t exposed!) and my newest addition to the
summer shoe collection, the Chacos.

Tank - Thrifted
Black Shorts (ordered in a size small)
Chacos (size 8)
.
Day 4: Saguaro National Park (East and West)
Finding myself among the cacti again I wanted to have an
outfit that fit with the southwestern desert theme so I
added this thrifted cardigan (which gave me allllll the southwestern
vibes with those colors) to my simple black tank and jean shorts outfit.

Cardigan - Thrifted
Black Tank - Thrifted
Jean Shorts - American Eagle (I don’t think they sell this style anymore.)
.
Day 5: Lost Dutchman State Park - Phoenix, Arizona
(I was totally exhausted after hiking to the top of Flatiron
and wasn’t even thinking about taking an outfit picture soooooo
this will have to do. Just trade out the tennis shoes for Merrells! lol)
.
I started out this day hiking a freakin’ mountain (apparently
Pikes Peak wasn’t enough for me lol You can read about that
adventure here). I knew there was going
to be a lot of rock scrambling/climbing so I wanted an outfit
that would allow me to move easily which meant I was going
with a workout tank and leggings. I am literally obsessed with
both of these pieces and highly recommend them. (You can check
out more of my thoughts on these pieces as well as some other
Amazon workout finds in this article here!)
.
Clothing Links:
Flannel - Thrifted
Workout Tank (ordered in a medium)
TikTok Leggings (ordered in an extra small)
Merrells (Literally only bought these because they have “Moab” in
their name. Lol Wearing a size 7.5)
Sunglasses - Target? Maybe? Lol
.
After my morning hike I went into Phoenix and took a few
pictures with the murals around the city. I had seen an outfit
similar to this one on Pinterest and knew it was what I wanted
to wear so I hit up Amazon and found everything I needed. Did
I feel slightly exposed? Yup...sure did. (Especially with the open
back on the halter top) But did the pictures turn out
exactly how I had envisioned? Yes they did.
.
Clothing Links:
Maxi Skirt (Honestly one of the worst Amazon purchases I
have ever made. Read more about why here.)
Sandals - Forever 21
.
Day 6: Petrified Forest National Park - Winslow, AZ - Sedona, AZ
If you thought I was going to be “Standin’ on the corner in
Winslow, Arizona” without sporting some Eagles gear you
would be crazy. However, somehow before leaving on this
trip, I didn’t have any Eagles attire so Amazon saved my booty.
This shirt is a men’s tee, but a quick tie-up in the front made up
for the size difference. Love how this outfit turned out. I felt so cute in it!
.
Clothing Links:
Eagles Tee (ordered in size small)
Black Shorts (size small)
.
Day 7: Sedona, AZ
There was a lot of hiking planned for this day so a tee and
leggings was the perfect fit choice.
.

“Take More Detours” Tee - Honestly not sure where
this came from, but thinking Target
Under Armour Leggings - Marshalls
