Foodie Friday: Burger Depot - Buhler, Kansas

For this Foodie Friday my amazing friends and I took a trip to a brand new restaurant in

the tiny town of Buhler, Kansas in the hopes of finding a nice, delicious burger to rival

the fast food ones we have grown used to. Did we manage to find it? Scroll on down to find out!

We drove down a dead end road and parked across the street from a tiny white building. At first

we weren't sure we were in the right spot until we noticed in the window of that little white

building there was a neon sign flashing open and so we made our way across. With the size

of the building and lack of people inside I wondered if maybe this new restaurant was

strictly a to-go place. However, they did have a couple of tables and chairs inside so

we declared one ours and took a peek at their menu.

.

.

Once we all had an idea of what we wanted we hopped in the line that had started

in front of the cash register counter and then placed our orders once we reached the front.

.

Brittany ordered a hot dog with their homemade chips and a Reese's Pieces shake.

.

.

Alexis, Chance, and I all three ordered the bacon cheeseburger (I wanted to get the chili

burger but unfortunately they were all out of chili). I also added on to mine a Reese's peanut butter cup shake.

.

.

And Rhett ordered the mushroom swiss burger with a Nutella banana shake.

.

.

After placing our orders we all sat back down at our table and waited until our food was

delivered to us in brown paper baggies (again making me think they would rather have you take your food to go).

.

The Reviews:

Just like with any new restaurant there are some kinks that need to be worked out before

they can be running as smooth as a well oiled machine, but overall I had a pretty pleasant

experience here at Burger Depot. The inside was certainly small and felt like you were

sitting in someone's fancy garage or backyard she-shed, but in a good way. It was chill.

You could also tell it was a family run establishment with all members of the family pitching

in either in the back helping to make the food or up front running the cash register and that was

another thing I really appreciated about the place. I always love supporting family run small

businesses like that. I thought my burger was pretty good and my shake was amazing although

I do have to agree with Brittany on the homemade potato chips being just a tad bit too greasy.

Overall I see a lot of good potential for this place and think they did well for just opening.

Would definitely come back later on down the road!
