Foodie Friday: Big Larry's Burgers - Valley Center, Kansas

Huge shout-out to Mickey for sharing this restaurant with me!

Once I saw the huge burger that's part of their Big Larry

Challenge on their Facebook page I knew I needed

to try and get here ASAP so I sweet talked Nick into taking me and

off we went. Hope you enjoy reading our review!

We walked in through the door of the small corner restaurant with

a retro feel and immediately started looking over the HUGE menu

on the wall up above the cash register.

.

.

Of course being the indecisive person that I am, I took a good long

while trying to decide what kind of burger I wanted

so Nick placed his order first. He chose to go with the Booming Burger

.

.

and the bacon ranch cheese fries.

.

.

Once I finally made up my mind I ordered a chocolate shake

to drink along with their famous Big Larry Burger

.

.

and the stinger fries. I had no idea what the heck was on these fries

when I ordered them, but they looked good in the picture so I

took the risk.

(Spoiler alert...they ended up being chili cheese fries and totally worth it. lol)

I have to admit that before I walked into Big Larry's I was a little concerned

that it might be a drive through only place since from the outside it really didn't

look all that big. However, after another quick Facebook sleuthing session I

was convinced they offered dine in and inside we went. Immediately I was

struck by the large brightly colored, slightly chaotic, menu hanging above

the cash register counter. Trying to read all of the menu options and decide

what to order was definitely a huge struggle not just because I am blind, but

also because there were so. many. options. However, the guy behind the counter

was very very patient with us so I really appreciated that. After we sat down I

took some time to look at the décor which was a little haphazard, but definitely fit

the retro burger joint vibes it was trying to create. Our food came out fairly

quickly and the second I saw my fries I was sold on the place. Y'all when I tell you

both of our fries were amazing I mean it. I would have been perfectly happy to

have only ordered the fries and I wouldn't be surprised if I returned just for

them because everything about them was perfect. I do have to say that Nick's

bacon ranch cheese fries were slightly better than my stinger fries. Then again,

it is bacon and ranch and cheese....can't really go wrong there. lol My burger

was also pretty good. I do have to admit that I turned their famous Big Larry

into a simple cheeseburger after having them remove all the vegetables, but I

certainly wasn't disappointed. One bite into the burger I immediately thought this

was a place Dean Winchester from Supernatural would love and that's how I knew

I had found a great burger and restaurant. lol Definitely would go back.
