Movie-Fi-Cation Part 4
Spoiler alert: All the movies in this week’s movie-fi-cation
were solid 4 star (and one 5 star!) movies. I thoroughly
enjoyed watching every single one of them and they were
all movies that I had seen multiple times before this
challenge. I don’t know if I would consider each one of them
to be movies that everyone should see at least once, but they
are all movies that bring me a certain level of comfort when I
watch them so that has to count for something right?
Sweet Home Alabama ★★★★
This movie is a highly predictable and cheesy romantic
comedy, but I would be lying to you if I said that I didn’t
enjoy watching it. (Heck even my dad enjoyed watching
this movie with me!) All of the characters in the movie
were very loveable (well, almost all of the characters), the
love story in the movie was, albeit extremely unrealistic, very
cute nonetheless, and the ending was absolute rom com perfection.
White Chicks ★★★★
If you haven’t seen this movie yet, then that better
be the next thing you plan on doing or I swear I am
"going to have a BF and write a letter!" It had been years
since I had watched this movie, but it wasn’t long until all
the great moments came flooding back to me and I was
quoting right along with it. I will admit that there are
definitely some sensitive lines that wouldn’t be able to make
it in movies today, but by the end I was laughing so hard
that my side was hurting. Definitely a movie everyone
should see for at least the quotable lines if nothing else.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off ★★★★
Ferris Bueller is the kid we all aspired to be. He is
crafty, resourceful, confident, can win over anyone he
wants, and knows how to have a good time all while
successfully escaping the prison that is school. Watching
all his “sick day” antics always leaves me in a good mood
and I love the decision to have Ferris directly speak to the
audience at different points in the movie.
Definite must watch for all!
(If you want to switch up your workouts a little bit you
can use this Ferris Bueller movie workout I made! It was
a great way to have some real fun while getting in shape!)
Toy Story ★★★★
“Reach for the sky!” This is exactly what Pixar did
when they created this great movie. This movie is full
of such genuine emotions making every scene from
start to finish really hit home. For being one of the first
Pixar movies to hit the screen I don’t think they could
have set the bar any higher and I will
arguably say that it is one of the best Pixar movies to date.
The Help ★★★★★
This movie (and of course the book as well) will
always get five stars out of me no matter how many
times I watch it. It makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it
has some amazing messages (always remember "You
is kind. You is smart. You is important."), and it is a story
that I could watch again and again. The performances
given by all the actors in this movie are so raw and they
really make you feel every emotion that their characters
are experiencing. Definitely a must see movie for everyone.
