Starting My Movie-fi-cation
For years I thought I was pretty educated when it
came to movies. Heck, I even prided myself on the
amount of movies I had seen. However, I have realized
that I am not the movie aficionado I once believed myself
to be. Sooooo, now that I am spending more time at home
as many of you also are, I figured it was the perfect time for a
movie-fi-cation (Thank you Pitch Perfect!).
Throughout this course my homework will be to watch
movies off of three separate lists consisting of about 100
movies each. By the end I hope to receive my official
Doctorate of Movies so wish me luck!
The first list is a list of the 100 Greatest Movies selected by a
panel of more than 1500 leaders of the American movie
community at the American Film Institute.
As you can see there isn’t a single movie on the list from the
21st century and most of them are movies I have never
heard of so yeah, love that for me. I am super nervous
that I won’t find any of these movies enjoyable, but
I have been surprised by movies before!
The second list is one that was constructed by myself
and my friends when asked the question “What are three
movies you think everyone should see at least once in their lifetime?”
(My choices were Mean Girls, A Christmas Story, and Forrest Gump.)
The third and final list comes from IMDB and is
Luckily for me there are a lot of movies that crossover on
each of these three lists so I am not stuck watching 300
movies, but there are still a large number left so fingers
crossed that I can stick with it! I’m excited to see what
movies I have been missing out on as well as what
movies, if any, should not have made it onto these lists. I
will be posting my thoughts and reactions to these movies
as I make my way through them so if you are curious about
my opinion on some of your favorite movies be sure to keep
an eye out for new posts! Also, you can follow the Everyday
Adventurers on Instagram where I will be posting what
movies I am watching so you can watch along with me if you want!

How many movies on these lists have you seen? What
are your three movies you think everyone should watch
at least once? Let me know in the comments!
