Watch It Wednesday Part 5
This week was an overall disappointing week for
Netflix trending with the majority of the shows and
movies being ones I would opt to skip. Hopefully my
torture in watching these shows and movies will help
keep you from suffering the same fate. Enjoy round 5!
Unsolved Mysteries WATCH
I initially turned this show on to play while I got
some other stuff accomplished, but instead ended
up cross legged on the floor completely glued to my
TV screen. It is so hard to believe that these are real
unsolved cases and not just something cooked up for a
movie. Definitely one you NEED to check out.
Floor is Lava SKIP
This game show is pretty much a knock off version
of the show Wipeout! and a larger more literal version
of the game we all used to play as kids. Unfortunately, their
insane amount of effort to be entertaining wasn’t enough
for me and after 3 full episodes I threw in the towel. Although I will say
I do hold some serious respect for all of the puns they used.
Patriots Day WATCH
If you like movies based on true stories this is one
you will definitely want to check out. It is a very moving
film surrounding a tragic event many of us most likely
remember watching on the news, the Boston Marathon bombing.
The acting is superb and the live footage and testimonies at
the end of the movie made for a very emotional
watching experience.
George Lopez SKIP
I have always enjoyed George Lopez's comedy. In fact, the
George Lopez Show was one of my favorite shows to
watch when I was younger. However, even with his great
delivery and timing of jokes, this special just didn't work for
me because, being a basic white girl, I just didn’t relate
to his jokes about Latino culture.
Eurovision SKIP
A Will Ferrell movie that is extremely stupid and tries
waaaay too hard to be funny? No it can’t be possible! Lol
Okay on a more serious note, perhaps even a note as
serious as the Speorg Note, I wanted to stop watching
this movie before I even reached the halfway point. In fact, the
only part of the movie I liked was the song at the end Rachel
McAdams' character sang about her hometown. I don’t know
how in the world this movie was given the go ahead to be
produced let alone make it to the trending page.
The Order SKIP
The acting is subpar, the storyline is slow, and the
plot seems to be all over the place. If you are a fan of
fantasy shows stick to Supernatural or The Magicians
and leave this one alone.
The Babysitters Club SKIP
This show is…..cute and definitely geared more
towards a younger audience. If you read these books
as a kid (I did not) you might have some nostalgia working
in your favor to make this series worth sitting
through, but otherwise I would say skip it.
Crazy Delicious SKIP
Anyone else notice a recent surge in popularity for
British reality television shows on Netflix? This show is
kind of like Nailed It (because of the unique set up of the
show), but unfortunately it just didn’t have what it takes to
hold my attention and make it a show I wanted to watch.
The Town WATCH
I will admit this movie is not perfect, but Affleck’s
background of being from Boston (where this movie is set)
gives the movie a grandly realistic feeling. Add in a cast of
big name actors who give undeniably great performances
and you have an action movie worth the watch.
Southern Survival WATCH
OH. MY. GOSH. Y’all I abso-freakin-lutely love this
show! Do they go way overboard testing the products
in the show? Why yes, yes they do. However, this show
is an extremely entertaining adventure and I love seeing
how the products test against some of the most extreme
conditions because when it comes to survival you are only
going to want the best of the best! Definitely feel like I am going
to be prepared for any situation after watching this show.
Have you seen any of these shows? What are your
thoughts?
