Watch It Wednesday Part 4
I’m not going to lie, there isn’t really anything on
this list that I am extremely obsessed with and am
like “oh my gosh you just HAVE to check out this show
pronto.” I actually think that this was one of the first weeks
where I had shows that I couldn’t definitively say one way
or the other on whether you should watch it or not.
However, I still think there is a lot of great information
below for your Netflix watching so hope you enjoy!
365 Days WATCH
100% not a movie you should watch with your
parents or your kids due to some fairly graphic and
intense sex scenes, buuuuuut by yourself or with a S.O. is
a great way to spice up your movie night in. I will admit
that the movie wasn’t perfect. The storyline could have
been focused on more, it was slightly tedious to watch
because of the multiple languages and subtitles, and parts
of it were a little too predictable, BUT, the ending. Y’all
I sat straight up in bed with my mouth agape during the
last few minutes of the movie. Cannot believe how it
ended and am still a little upset about it.
13 Reasons Why WATCH
My interest for this show was initially sparked from
the book that it is based on. It is actually one of my
favorite books of all time and so when I heard there was
a show coming out I was skeptical yet excited. This
show doesn’t follow the book exactly, but while this would
normally turn me off from a show, I still think they did a
great job by providing some great acting, an ability to
convey the emotions brought on by the tough topics
they cover, and the soundtrack is bomb.
Mr. Iglesias NEUTRAL
Fluffy is back! This is a comedy that actually deals with
a lot of heavy topics from social and racial injustice, political
stances, and discrimination. Of course to no one’s surprise
it is filled with Iglesias’ style of comedy, which is kind of hit
or miss for me, meaning this show has a large mix of laugh
out loud moments and Elvis Presley lip curl level ugly
moments. My advice, if you are easily
offended, definitely skip this show.
Da 5 Bloods SKIP
This is not a movie you want to watch while eating
because there are many graphic scenes that will instantly
cause you to either lose your appetite, or perhaps even
your entire meal. (Like seriously y’all, blood is rightfully in
the title because there is so much of it.) This movie is
intense from the first minute to the last and while there
is a lot of good Black Lives Matter content, black history, and
some good acting (Well hello Chadwick Boseman aka Black
Panther <3) I don’t think this is a movie everyone needs to see.
Space Force SKIP
I know this show is supposed to be a parody of the
real Space Force, but, politics aside, this show is so
insanely dumb. There was never a moment that made me
laugh. Instead I spent the entire 2 episodes I forced
myself to watch just shaking my head and wondering
what in the heck I was doing wasting my life with this show.
Alexa and Katie WATCH
This show, although clearly for kids and very
“new-age Disney,” is a show that I totally fell in love
with. It is extremely heartwarming, cute, funny, cheesy, and
I fell into a binge watching hole with it.
Just Go With It WATCH
In this movie the acting is superb, Jennifer Aniston
is fire (per usual), and it makes me laugh out loud
every single time I watch it. It never gets old
and is a great movie for families also!
F is for Family NEUTRAL
Personally, I just don’t think the comedy in this show
is for me. While there were some moments that made
me smile (never any moments that made me laugh out
loud though) the majority of the comedy in this show is
pretty crude and not really my style. I am not going to
say you should skip this show because I think there are
some parts you may be able to relate to and find more
amusing, especially if you are a married middle aged
man with kids. I also think there are some interesting
viewpoints covered in this show that make it a very
relevant thing to be watching in today’s time considering
the recent Black Lives Matter and feminism movements.
Pokemon Journeys SKIP
When I was a young kid the first thing I would do when
I got off the bus from school was turn on the TV and
watch Pokemon. (Yep I was one of those nerdy kids.
Even had the Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards to
prove it.) I don’t think this is the same show I watched
when I was a kid so the nostalgia was missing and it
turned out to be a show I wasn’t interested in watching at all.
How to Get Away With Murder WATCH
Drama, drama, drama. This fast paced show will have
you hooked in its clutches from the first second and
you will end up binge watching every episode before
you even know what has happened.
Definitely a MUST SEE!
