Watch It Wednesday: My Thoughts On the Netflix Trending Shows
I watched the top 10 shows/movies currently trending
on Netflix and here are my thoughts! (Note: The order
I have listed below may be different from the order they
are in now. The rankings of the
trending shows/movies changes frequently.)
..................................................................................
#10: Legacies (2 Seasons)
I am a sucker for shows that feature supernatural
teenagers like Umbrella Academy and Locke and
Key so it comes as no surprise that I also really
enjoyed this show as well. It has some good drama,
twists, and even some heartfelt moments here and there.
It is a show I highly recommend especially if you
like those other shows I mentioned.
#9: The Main Event (Movie)
I’m not going to say that I had high hopes going
into this movie, but I did think the plot sounded like
something I would thoroughly enjoy. I will admit that
there were some pretty good comedic moments and
a very heartfelt ending, but overall I think this is a
movie that was made for kids and is one that would be
best enjoyed by kids. Therefore, if you don’t have
kids to watch it with I say don’t waste your time.
#8: All American (2 seasons)
This is the perfect show to watch to curve your
craving for sports in these times. This show is
centered around a football program in desperate
need of a winning season and a new star transfer
in desperate need of a better life for himself and his
family. There is plenty of football, dang good drama,
and the soundtrack for this show is off the charts.
Definitely can understand why this show is trending.
#7: Money Heist (4 parts)
This show had me hooked after the first minute.
The entire show is in Spanish, but does have English
subtitles so you will have to pay close attention in
order to understand what they are saying if you don’t
speak Spanish. However, I can promise you it won’t
be hard to pay attention. Once you start this show
you won’t be able to take your eyes off the screen and
you will want to sit and binge watch it to the
end without a moment’s hesitation.
#6: The Big Show Show (1 part)
This is the second show on this trending list that
delves into the WWE wrestling world and stars retired
real life wrestler The Big Show. Like most sitcoms
of today this show is definitely cheesy, almost to a
fault, but in the end there is just something about it
I really enjoy and is a show
I will continue watching.
#5: Code 8 (Movie)
The idea for this dystopian movie was an interesting
concept and it definitely had some serious eye candy,
but in the end I found this movie on the slow side
lacking in action, twists, and explanations
at times. I don’t recommend this one.
#4: Angel Has Fallen (Movie)
I have been a Gerard Butler fan ever since I watched
the movie 300 (can you blame me? I mean just look
at those muscles!) and since then there really hasn’t
been a movie of his that I haven’t liked or missed
watching. However, Angel Has Fallen is one that I
honestly hadn’t heard much about. It is the third
installment in the Fallen series, a series which I
happen to love and it had an insane amount of action,
explosions, violence, deception, and oh yeah, Morgan
Freeman starring as the President. It was everything
I could have hoped from an action movie
and one I definitely recommend.
#3: Love Wedding Repeat (Movie)
I’m going to start off by saying that this is a movie
I would have never chosen to watch on my own. And
after watching it, it is a movie that I will never watch
again. I thought that the entire movie tried waaay too
hard to be funny and the only parts I actually liked were
when the oracle (narrator) was talking which was
only about 2 minutes of the entire movie.
Don’t waste your time on this one.
#2: Ozark (3 seasons)
This is definitely a show you have to pay close
attention to! It is a little slow on the action front, but
the drama definitely makes up for that. I wouldn’t
say that this is a show I can binge watch in
one sitting, but is definitely one I enjoy watching.
#1: Tiger King (1 season)
Hey all you cool cats and kittens! All I can say
about this show is what. A. Ride. Yes it was
ridiculous. Yes you will judge yourself hardcore for
spending 10 hours watching it. But man was it
entertaining and worth every minute I wasted. I have
officially hopped on the Tiger King train, am fully able
to enjoy every meme I see, and I
recommend everyone see it.
