Watch It Wednesday Part 2
Okay so, if you haven't already noticed, I have decided
to turn watching the Netflix trending shows into a bit
of a series on here. I have simply just become obsessed
with checking the trending list, finding new shows, and
then sharing my strong opinions on those shows. So
far I have been surprised by some shows as I fall
head over heels in love with them, but there have also been
some extreme time wasters. Hope you enjoy round 2 of this series!
Outer Banks WATCH
This is definitely a show you want to add
to your watch list. I absolutely love the friend
group dynamic, the storyline, and all the action
and mystery that is involved. Once you
start it you won’t want to stop.
Hollywood WATCH
I hadn’t seen any advertisements for this show so I was
a little surprised to see it so high on the trending list, but
after watching it I can certainly understand why. Albeit it is
a bit risque at times with a bunch of nudity and queer
scenes, this Mad Men-esque show is quite addicting
and easy to sit and watch for hours.
Jerry Seinfeld: 23 Hours to Kill SKIP
So….I didn’t really like this. I think I only laughed out
loud a couple of times throughout the whole hour
and most of the time I didn’t even crack a smile.
Unfortunately, even though his set was about the
humor or real life, I just couldn't get into it or find
it funny. (I do still think Seinfeld is one of the
best sitcoms ever though.)
Never Have I Ever WATCH!!!!!
I honestly did not have any interest in watching
this show when I saw the previews, but I
could NOT stop laughing through the entire
pilot. I binge watched the entire season in one
sitting and literally screamed at the TV after
finishing the last episode because I needed more.
Becoming WATCH
I have not read Michelle’s book Becoming, and in all
honesty I don’t know if I ever will, but politics aside, I
thoroughly enjoyed this documentary about her book
tour. I don’t follow politics at all so there were certain
things she discussed that really opened my eyes to
news stories that unfolded during Obama’s time in the
White House as well as what it was like behind the
scenes and how things were before she became the
First Lady. It was just an interesting documentary and I
have to say that I hold a little more respect for Michelle
Obama than I did before I started it.
Dangerous Lies WATCH
This is definitely a thriller that will hold your
attention the entire time and the ending left me
sitting staring at the TV with my mouth agape.
(Plus, if nothing else, the outfits worn by Camila Mendes
are worth the watch in my opinion!)
Workin' Moms WATCH!!
I started this show long ago when it first came
out and, even though I am not a mom (let alone
a working one) I enjoy every minute of this show
that I watch. It is so real and the perfect show for
when you are needing a good laugh.
Arctic Dogs SKIP - unless you have kids
This movie had some pretty big names doing
the voices of the characters including Jeremy
Renner, James Franco, Heidi Klum, and Alec
Baldwin, but I had never heard of this movie before
I saw it on the trending list. The whole movie
gave me really strong Zootopia vibes and everything
worked out just a little too well for the good guys in
this movie. It isn’t a movie that I will be watching
again, but I do think it is a movie that kids will enjoy
and also a movie that has a great message
for kids of all ages.
Den of Thieves SKIP
I was very intrigued by the plot of this movie, a gang
of sheriffs who don’t play by the rules tries to stop a
group of ex-marines turned thieves before they commit
another grand heist. Unfortunately, the execution of that
plot was not done well and this movie ended up being
slow and not entertaining. I hated Gerard Butler’s character
who was supposed to be one of the “good guys,” felt absolutely nothing when
any of the characters’ lives were put in jeopardy, and I
sincerely think this movie would have been better off as an
hour long movie rather than one that was over 2
hours long. Don’t waste your time on it.
All Day and a Night SKIP
This movie was hard to watch with the
abuse, violence, and slow storyline. Perhaps
it was because there was nothing in this movie
that I could relate to as far as the hardships and
struggles of the characters go, but I just didn’t enjoy
this movie at all and wanted to stop watching it
within the first 10 minutes. In fact, after sitting through
all 2 hours of it, I wish I did...do not waste your
time like I did with this one.
