Christmas Travel Destinations

With a family as amazing as mine there haven't been many Christmases I have wanted to spend

away from them. However, on the rare occasions when I have traveled outside of

Kansas for Christmas I have found a few pretty great little places that really embody the Christmas

spirit. Scroll on down to see what they are as well as my own Christmas travel bucket list!

.

.

St. Augustine, Florida

.

Florida is probably one of the last places I would have expected to find the feeling of Christmas

with its 60 degree December weather, but walking down the streets of St. Augustine and looking

at all the beautiful Christmas lights strung about the square and around the trees it was hard for it

to not feel Christmas-y. I also highly recommend a visit to the St. Augustine lighthouse

to see some pretty Christmas decorations.....and maybe a ghost or two.

Some other places in St. Augustine I highly recommend you stop at include:

The Pirate Museum

The Spanish Military Hospital

Castillo de San Marcos Spanish Fort

Medieval Torture Museum

.

A Christmas Story House - Cleveland, Ohio

.

.

My favorite Christmas movie of all time is A Christmas Story and when I found myself in

Cleveland on a road trip to visit my friend Kristin there was no way I was going to miss out on a visit

to the infamous house from the movie. It was so surreal being able to stand where they filmed

and I could picture every scene perfectly. You can read more about my visit to this infamous house here.

.

Branson, Missouri

.

Growing up my family and I would travel to Branson almost every year at Christmastime

and they are some of my all time favorite memories. Branson itself is a fun town to

visit anytime of year, but Christmas is when I really think this town shines.

If you visit here are some places you HAVE to go to:

.

Dolly Parton's Stampede

Showboat Branson Belle

Silver Dollar City (Be sure to check out the saloon Christmas show and the cabin pickers!)

Branson Landing

Attend an infamous Branson show (Hughes Brothers and The Duttons are two great choices)

Titanic Museum

.

Graceland - Memphis, Tennessee

.

.

When I was a kid Elvis was one of my all time favorite musicians. I was literally obsessed

and would buy every book, cd, 8 track, vinyl, and whatever other Elvis memorabilia that I could

find. So when I found myself walking in Memphis during the Christmas season I made sure to

stop and see his beautifully decorated mansion. You can read more about my

visit to the King's beautiful home here.

.

Durango, Colorado

.

Sooooo I wasn't actually in Durango during Christmas, BUT while riding the Durango-Silverton

train I noticed that the very train I was on turns into the train from the

Polar Express at Christmas and I have wanted

to return to ride on it ever since!

(Although I do have to say that the train ride is worth visiting Durango for any time of year.)

My Christmas Travel Bucket List

.

These are the places I hope to visit for Christmas sometime!

.

New York City, New York

.

Who doesn't want to experience Christmas in New York City?! Getting to see the lighting of the

tree at Rockefeller Center and all the Christmas lights in all the stores and then sticking around for

the ball drop on New Year's? I cannot WAIT until the time comes when I get to go.

.

Disney World - Orlando, Florida

.

Going to magic kingdom during the most magical time of year just makes a whole lot of

sense to me honestly. I may be an adult, but y'all I'd be lying if I said I didn't

want to go to Disney World.

.

North Pole, Alaska

.

I mean, the name kind of speaks for itself there.

.

.

Where would you like to travel to for Christmas? Where has been your favorite

place to visit during the Christmas season? Let me know in the comments!
