Foodie Friday: La Fogata - McPherson, KS
Today for Foodie Friday we are visiting a newer addition to the restaurant scene
in McPherson, La Fogata. I am very picky about my Mexican food so I usually
go into a new Mexican restaurant with some skepticism and La Fogata was
definitely no different. So scroll on down to read and see if they turned
this skeptic into a believer!

La Fogata is seat yourself so my brother Adam and I walked in and picked a
table in the big open area. Not long after sitting down our waitress came
by and took our drink orders and a little while later came the potentially
meal-ruining chips and salsa. I mean seriously...has anyone gone to a
Mexican restaurant and not shown just zero self-restraint while eating chips
and salsa (let alone chips and queso)?! Yeah...I didn't think so. lol
.
.
Adam and I put in our food orders. He chose to go with the fajita
mix and I went for my tried and true ground beef chimichanga.
.
Only one basket of chips later our food arrived, Adam's sizzling and
mine hot and covered in ooey gooey queso.
.
.
We stuffed our faces and surprisingly we both walked out with to-go boxes. It is
pretty rare to see my bro leave somewhere with food leftover! lol He said it was so good he
just wanted to keep eating, but was so full he couldn't. Classic tale of the
mouth wanting more of what the stomach can't have. lol He ended up
giving the place a 9/10 rating overall and said he definitely wants to come back.
.
My food was absolutely delicious as well and I totally agreed with wanting
to keep eating even though I was so full! The queso on the chimi was
absolutely perfect (although definitely wouldn't have been upset to have
had a little more lol) and all the flavors in the food were so good
and worked perfectly with one another.

Cleanliness/Decor: 7/10
Price: $$
Overall Rating: 7.7/10

La Fogata hasn't been open in McPherson for all that long, but I personally
think it rivals the main Mexican restaurant in town, La Fiesta. While La
Fiesta does have La Fogata beat in the overall atmosphere/decor, the
food at La Fogata is absolutely amazing and delicious AND the portions
are crazy big. You will be leaving there full no doubt. As my brother
said, we will definitely be coming back.
