Foodie Friday: The Burger Garage and Ice Cream Shop - Hesston, KS

Truth be told I didn’t even know there were places to eat in Hesston. I had only

ever driven past the town on the interstate! However, in my small town

restaurant research I found that there are actually multiple restaurants to

eat at in Hesston so I recruited my two friends Justin and Danny and we

went to try out one of these places, The Burger Garage & Ice Cream Shop.

We pulled up to the Burger Garage and into a tight little parking

spot and then walked inside for foooood.

They have their menu posted on TV screens and you place

your order at the counter right inside the door.

.

Justin went first ordering the bacon cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate malt.

.

Danny ordered the chili bacon cheeseburger with fries.

.

And then finally it was the indecisive girl’s turn and I went with the bacon hotdog

burger which allowed me to not have to pick between a hot

dog and a burger. (I know I know….what was I doing even considering

a hot dog when it’s literally called the burger garage? But y’all hot

dogs are a weakness for me lol).

.

We plopped ourselves down in a booth and not too much later out came our

food in these neat little silver trays. We scarfed down the burgers and

then Danny decided he still had some room left so he went up and

ordered himself a chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream cone

and some fried oreos for the table.

.

This is a large order of fried oreos (6) while a small order has only 2 just fyi.

.

Here's a look at their menu:

.

Justin’s rating: 8/10

While their menu isn’t super diverse and the food isn't really anything fancy they

still put out some pretty good food.

.

Danny’s rating: 8/10

Also agreed that the food wasn’t anything fancy, but really enjoyed

it and said it was a place he would recommend. Also would

like to know how to make their chili because it was incredible. Lol

.

Burger Garage Stats:

Service: 6/10

Food: 8/10

Cleanliness/Decor: 10/10

Price: $$

Overall Rating: 8/10

.

I absolutely loved the aesthetic of the Burger Garage with its old timey 50s

esque style. If only I had a classic car I could have driven there! Lol

I do think the people working there could have been a little

happier, as none of them seemed like they really wanted to be there, but

our food still came out fairly quick and it was nearing the end

of the workday. Speaking of food, I have to agree

with Justin and Danny that it was pretty dang good. I will say that the

burger patties themselves are a little thin (think Freddy’s style burgers) so my

ratio of hot dog to burger was a little off, but I really am not going to complain.

Overall I enjoyed our trip and would definitely go back to eat again!
