Foodie Friday: Martinelli's Little Italy - Salina, KS

Sitting on the corner in Salina's hip downtown area, Martinelli's has been

a top eating choice for many especially if they are planning on seeing a show

at the famous Stiefel Theatre positioned just across the street. This restaurant

has been on my list of places to review for quite some time now, but I just haven't

had the right person(s) to share it with...until now. This week I am excited to announce

that I was joined on this Foodie Friday review by the amazing Cassidy

and her adorably ornery son Beau!

.

.

Definitely some of the cutest dinner dates a girl could ask for! This was both of

the Oborny's first time here which also was pretty exciting so scroll on

down to see what we all thought!

As the wind threatened to blow me into the next county, I managed to make it

inside the doors of the little Italian place. The host showed me to a booth where I sat

snacking on bread while waiting for Cassidy and Beau.

.

.

Once they arrived we started looking over the large tri panel menu

doing our best to narrow down our options.

.

.

Confident we knew what we wanted Cassidy led the way and ordered

a Caesar Salad and a half size of the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken for her and Beau to share.

.

.

I ordered the Fried Ravioli and a quarter order of Martinelli's signature lasagna.

Crew Reviews:

.

Cassidy: 10/10

.

This was both Cassidy and Beau's first time at Martinelli's, but it ended

up being a big hit for them both! Cassidy said that she could definitely see

herself going there instead of Olive Garden when she finds herself in Salina

and that her alfredo at Martinelli's was even better than the alfredo she had

had at Genova's (another Foodie Friday location you can read about here) the night before!

.

Beau: 20/10

.

Not only did Beau enjoy eating the alfredo here more, but he also LOVED the salad.

.

.

Martinelli's Final Stats:

Service: 10/10

Food: 10/10

Cleanliness/Décor: 10/10

Price: $$

Overall Rating: 10/10

Move over Olive Garden because Martinelli's has proven to be THE place to go for all

your Italian food cravings in Salina. Walking in through the doors the architectural

elements, from archways to layout, paired with the decorative details makes you

feel like you have just stepped off a plane in Italy with the intent of eating dinner at

a hole in the wall family owned place. It is cozy yet classy. Chill yet sophisticated. It

is the perfect spot for a date night or a dinner with friends. The service was

amazing. There was never a moment where we were left needing something and

our waiter was so on top of things he was taking care of stuff before we even knew

we needed it. Finally, the food tasted so homemade that I wouldn't have been

surprised to have walked back into the kitchen to see someone's nonna cooking

our food. The fried ravioli tasted anything but fried (in the best way possible), the

salad was the best salad I have ever had at a restaurant with a mildly tangy dressing

that put Olive Garden's slap-you-in-the-face salad dressing to shame. and my lasagna

was melt in your mouth good. The portion sizes were also very characteristic of an

Italian grandma because they were huge (We were told that a half order would feed

two, but Cassidy and I are pretty sure that you could probably feed at least 3 or 4.) so

if you leave this place hungry that is entirely on you.
