Foodie Friday: Louis' Rose Hill Café - Rose Hill, Kansas
Mickey has officially become one of my Foodie Friday informants as he
tagged me in yet another great place to try out for my Foodie Friday
antics. This week it was Louis' Rose Hill Café in Rose Hill, Kansas, a small
joint known for having some pretty delicious burgers. Of course I was
excited the second I read that and with Nick working in
the area it seemed too perfect to pass up. Scroll on down to
see if their burgers lived up to the hype!

As I said Nick was working in the Wichita area already so I met him
outside this little hole in the wall place and we headed inside
to hopefully fill some grumbling tummies.
.
The place is a seat yourself venue and you place your order up
at a window on the other side of the entrance.

I knew of course that I was going to try out one of their hyped
burgers and ended up going with the Hickory Bacon
Cheeseburger with a side of cheese fries.

Nick, unaware of the burger hype (my bad on that one lol) ended up
ordering the chicken fried steak meal with sides of fried mushrooms and mashed potatoes.

Nick's Review: 6.785/10 (I swear this man and his weird numbers. lol)
.
Sadly for Nick he felt like his mashed potatoes tasted more instant than
real so he had to deduct some points there as he isn't a huge fan of
instant potatoes. However, he did say his chicken fried steak and
fried mushrooms were good. He was a little disappointed that the
fried mushrooms didn't automatically come with ranch and you have to
pay extra for it, but overall felt that it was all pretty affordable
for the amount of food u get.

I always get a little nervous before entering a restaurant I have never been
to before and the openness and the small space inside of the café made
me feel slightly like an animal on display at the zoo. However, any
social anxieties I had quickly disappeared after the amazingly friendly service
we received at the order window. (I also really appreciated how easy it
was to tell that you place your order at the window so we weren't left
standing in the entrance awkwardly trying to figure out where to go. lol) I
thought the design of the interior was cute especially the checkerboard
floor. The burger I had definitely lived up to the hype and was an absolutely delicious
mess of BBQ sauce and grease. The cheese fries on the other hand
were a little disappointing and nothing
at all like I was expecting. The seasoning on the fries was really good, but
the cheese was just some melted shredded cheese. Like "A" for effort, but I would
say to definitely just stick with the plain fries. lol Other than that I would
return here for a burger again if I was in the area.
