Watch It Wednesday Part 3
This round of watching was so successful and brought
so many shows and movies to my attention that I don't
even feel the tiniest bit bad for wasting hours of my life
watching them all. Hahaha! Hope you enjoy my thoughts
on this round of Netflix trending!
Avatar: The Last Airbender WATCH
This show was definitely created for children, but as
an adult who has never watched the show before and
is thus not consumed by a gripping nostalgia, I still
found this show very entertaining and highly bingeable.
(It also helps that the episodes are only 20 minutes long!)
Sure there are some cheesy scenes that I may have
rolled my eyes at, but I remained invested and flew
through all the episodes very quickly.
The Wrong Missy SKIP
Well….the best thing I can say about this movie is
that I didn't completely hate it. Lol It had a good cast
with a lot of well known actors and a good comedic
storyline however for me it just fell flat. I felt like it tried
waaaay too hard to be funny making certain scenes just
come off as plain dumb. If you like (overly) stupid funny
this one is for you, but I certainly won't be watching it again.
Soul Surfer WATCH
This is an insanely emotional movie that had me in tears
more than once! The acting in this movie isn't the best
in the world (sorry Carrie, but I think you should stick
to singing) and there were some very cheesy parts, but I
absolutely loved the faith based aspects that made an
appearance throughout as well as the videos of the actual
Bethany Hamilton behind this inspiring true story.
Public Enemies WATCH
This movie is loooong, BUT it is worth every minute. It
has a killer cast of big name actors who all do an
amazing job with their individual parts as well as a
story full of sweet gangster action that is actually based
on a true story. Worth all 143 minutes in my opinion.
White Lines WATCH
The previews for this show made it look so stupid and
unappealing to me, but after the first episode I was
hooked. It has drugs, mystery, murder, even sprinklings
of comedy, all of which make it an extremely bingeable show.
History 101 WATCH
This show is sooo stinking interesting! I started the
first episode thinking it would be a background noise
show that would honestly only interest people like my dad
and huge history buffs, but boy was I wrong. This show
kept me completely entranced from the first minute with its
unique infographics and ability to tell the history in an
insanely entertaining way. You will be surprised by how
much you learn and how quickly you will fly through
the 10 episode season.
Dead to Me WATCH
So this show is...okay. Honestly, I am not sure what it
is, but for some reason I just cannot seem to get into
enough to make it a bingrable show for me. I still keep
returning to it because I am curious to see what will
happen, but I don't really feel anything while watching it.
No feelings of heartbreak, the "oh shit" moments don't
phase me at all, it is just a show that I kind of keep on for
background noise. However, with that being said I know
there are a lot of people out there who love this show so I
think it is at least worth giving it a chance. I will be
finishing both seasons….eventually.
*Update: I have made it to episode 7 of season 1 and I
have officially reached the point where I am compulsively
hitting "next episode" as soon as the end credits hit.
The Lovebirds SKIP
After watching the previews for this movie I was excited
to check out this comedy. While there were some laughable
moments I found this movie to be overall disappointing.
The main couple was extremely annoying to watch and
the storyline had so many gaping holes and stupid, unnecessary
points. Don't waste your time on this one.
Sweet Magnolias SKIP
This show is D U M B. Every episode is waaay too
long, uninteresting, and worse than any Hallmark
movie or show I have seen in ways of cheesiness and
bad acting. Netflix really dropped the ball on this original
series. Trust me you do not want to waste your time.
The Flash WATCH
I am a sucker for anything superhero related so it comes
as no surprise to me that I really enjoyed watching this
show. It follows the typical superhero show set up by
being a little cheesy at times, has good comedic bits, and
some entertaining action sequences. Definitely
another one I am keeping on my watch list.
Have you watched any of the shows and movies on
this list? What are your thoughts? What shows are on
your watch list? On your skip list?
